I remember John as a close friend in our early years at Hall Road School then our teens, him riding the Butcher's bike delivering meat with the basket in front of the bike. His Guinee pigs on the allotment, his Shadows album playing Apache, and then at High School for Building, the last time being at the School reunion, only education, employment and not living close have kept us apart. He will always remain in my memory.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
